V-Day 2010, Firenze:
Until The Violence Against Women Stops
The Vagina Monologues
by Eve Ensler

Last season, FITC involved Florence in the world-wide movement: VDay 2009: Until the Violence Against Women Stops with a sold out, standing room only, bi-lingual production of 'The Vagina Monologues' performed by local actors and members of the community. This year Gina Lamparella will direct a new group of women in the VDay 2010 production to raise awareness to this issue and funds to support a local organization, the Artemisia Association, which assists victims of violence. Last year 23 women were on stage in performance. Again this year, any and all women who want to be involved are welcome.
"The Vagina Monologues:"
Eve Ensler’s Obie award-winning masterpiece gives voice to real women’s deepest fantasies and fears.
“Spellbinding, funny, and almost unbearably moving. . . it is both a work of art and an incisive piece of cultural history, a poem and a polemic, a performance and a balm and a benediction.”
